Stephen Zhang is a PhD student in the Theoretical Systems Biology group and School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Melbourne.

He previously earned a MSc in Mathematics at the University of British Columbia.

Stephen is interested in applying tools from stochastic dynamics, optimisation and geometric statistics to tackle inverse problems, especially those arising in systems biology.

In particular, both theoretical and applied aspects of optimal transportation have proven especially endearing.
